Happy Saturday All!
An old Youth Group Buddy of mine suggested I make a list of my favorite Thrift Shops on Long Island. When @cesariojennie asked about where to go I promised her my list. So here it goes- I have divided this up by South and North Shores. Anyone from our area knows Long Island, NY is literally shaped like a fish! The head of the fish sits outside of NYC and yes- Brooklyn and Queens are on Long Island- they don’t want to be linked to Long Islanders but that’s exactly what they are….Hee Hee Hee.
But I digress…
This would be a fun day trip! My first stop is ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop. Arfhampton.org. 17 Poxabogue Lane, Sagaponack, NY. They have beautiful items donated to them by the Rich and Famous. And yes, I am talking about Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Ray and Beth Stern (Howard Stern’s wife)- among countless others. I encourage you to check out their website- they also have fund raisers to help with abandoned animals. The shop funds the ‘no-kill’ shelter of the same name. This is a new discovery for me.
In the bargain basement I found this little beauty…
Please keep in mind these are the few that I’ve discovered…If you have any that you recommend- I welcome the input. Feel free to comment on my Instagram Account. I’m still getting used to this blog and haven’t activated all its features even though I’m paying for them!
Next on my list is in Hampton Bays- My favorite Antique Shop is James Maguire Antiques/ Antiques by James Maguire, 94 W Montauk Hwy., Hampton Bays, NY @jamesmaguireantiques. This is my go to shop for rustic pine pieces. Everyone I’ve ever encountered there is super nice! That also goes for the ARF folks as well!
I bought this from this antiques shop a few years ago. I absolutely love it! There are a few other antique shops you may want to run into while in town as well- Good Ground Antique Center is one of them- 52 W. Montauk Hwy., Hampton Bays.
As you head further west to Westhampton, there’s another favorite thrift shop I love. It’s called East End Hospice Thrift Shop, 58 Riverhead Road, Westhampton Beach, NY.
They have a large selection of clothing, furniture and home goods. The picture at the top of this post is where I purchased these antique soup torueens.
I hope this helps point you in the right direction on the South Shore of Long Island. I’ll try to post another one on the North Fork of Long Island. I have a few shops that I would love to share with you.
Happy shopping Friends! Let me know what you find!
