I’m on a roll with blog posts! I recently had a fun Girls night at my coworkers home. We had such a wonderful time! They were teasing me because I love makeup and skin care and had so many tips to share.
This inspired me to write about some tips and tricks I’ve discovered.
Although I love my 40’s- I’ve noticed it’s definitely the decade of change… and not all of it the kind of change I like. Especially when it comes to my hair and skin!
Here are a few tips that have helped me look my best:
*Drink lots of water. You can put the most expensive creams on your face but none can achieve hydration like water can. Beautiful skin starts from within.
*Take powdered Collagen and Biotin everyday. It boosts your hair growth, strong nails and relieves join pain. Don’t believe me- read the reviews on Amazon. This is what I’ve been taking (over a year)
* A few times a week I use a micro needle roller. This is to be used at night time with a quality serum and moisturizer. This Is not something to be shared and must be sanitized. Read the directions and look up some YouTube videos. I was also impressed with before and after images I saw too.
This is the one I have purchased and it’s great!
One of the biggest changes I’ve had to make in my makeup routine is the use of powder. I’m naturally very pale, a must for me is blush. For years I used Bobby Brown’s bright pink blush. I just love it but I noticed the powder was starting to make my skin look dull and patchy. That’s when I began my search for a liquid blush.
*NARS in the color in Orgasm (I know that name! 🤭) fits the bill. I dot it on the apples of my cheeks (smile and they will pop up). I will also apply to my eye lids for a more wide awake look.
* I also do a bit of facial contouring with a Physician Formula stick but I’ve recently switched to Kokie Conturing Palette. They are all face creams- I picked mine up at Walmart. So far so good.
*My foundation is it Cosmetics BB cream. It’s just awesome and hydrating as well. There is a version that has a bit of shimmer- for me I found it to be a bit to shiny.
*Side Note* I recommend going into Sephora/ Ulta- look for a salesperson who has applied their makeup in a way that looks beautiful to you. They will know what products are best. Ask for samples or have them apply the makeup to your face. See if you like it in the store before you make your purchase. You may have to search a bit for the right one.
*Best eyeliner ever- Marc Jacobs- it is waterproof and does not come off unless you have makeup remover. I couldn’t keep eyeliner on- even waterproof eyeliner (drug store kind). The price tag is a bit higher but worth every penny and they offer so many colors.
*Concealer – this has been a challenge for me. it Cosmetics concealer has the sticktoitness I need but it’s a bit drying so I blend it with Benefit’s Boiing concealer stick which is hydrating.
*Lash Paradise is my favorite mascara. Period. And what’s not to love with that price as well!
* Not pictured is the cream eye shadows I use. Revlon has an inexpensive palate but I’m still playing around with eyeshadows. I’ll do another post on that, lip liners and lip gloss/plumpers.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these or add some recommendations. I would love to hear the feedback!
